Donor, Volunteer & Program Engagement for Nonprofits | SmartAlly.ai

For Nonprofits and Foundations

Donors, Volunteers,
and Participants
Who Keep
Showing Up.

Helping mission-driven organizations build one engagement journey that runs year-round, turning one-time gifts into recurring support, first-time volunteers into a reliable bench, and interest into program enrollment, without adding another job to someone's plate.

Book a Discovery Call

No pitch. No pressure. A conversation about your organization and the people you are trying to reach.

What Changes

Three Outcomes That
Move the Mission

Structural fixes that outlast the campaign.

Support Spread Across the Year

Unrestricted giving, volunteer hours, and enrollment stop living or dying in a single season. People have a reason to show up in March and July, not only in the last week of December.

A Recurring Base You Can Count On

You can see how a first-time giver becomes a repeat giver, a one-day volunteer becomes a regular, an inquiry becomes an enrolled participant, and which step loses them. No more guessing which appeal did the work or why last year's cohort lapsed.

Capacity Back for the Mission

When the journey is built and the follow-up runs itself, stewardship, recruitment, and enrollment stop competing with the four other jobs on your plate.

One System, Three Groups

One Way To Grow
All Three Groups

Donors, volunteers, and program participants all follow the same path. They hear about you, they try you once, and then they either come back or they do not. We build one system that keeps all three coming back.

Donors

From a first gift to recurring support, with the acknowledgment, the impact story, and the next ask arriving on time instead of whenever someone remembers.

Volunteers

From a one-time sign-up to a scheduled, returning bench, so recruitment stops starting over every season and your core volunteers stop burning out.

Program Participants

From interest to enrolled and showing up, with fewer no-shows, fewer dropped hand-offs at intake, and less chasing from your program staff.

Two Key Areas of Support

Where We Help You Carry Out
The Mission

Two areas of work, both tied back to the same organizational goals. We start with whichever one is holding you back and build from there.

Area One

Digital & Content Marketing

You may have a great brand, but if you are not where your donors, volunteers, and members already consume information, it will not matter, because no one will know about the great work you are doing. We help you get your organization into the right digital channels and align that work to your broader goals.

Channel strategy built around where your constituents actually spend time
Content that warms up prospective donors and members before the ask
Every channel tied back to a goal: new donors, new members, filled programs

Area Two

Strategic Organizing

Do you need to gain members, engage the ones you have, run a membership drive, or otherwise get people to take a specific action in support of your objectives? We help you think through and execute organizing work that is efficient, effective, and gets the results you need.

Membership drives and campaigns planned end to end, then run
Clear asks and clear next steps at every stage of the ladder
Re-engagement of lapsed members and dormant supporter lists

What Clients Say

Results That Speak
for Themselves

"There are a handful of people we come across in our careers who just outshine everyone else in their field. Nicole Mace is one of those people. I did not realize how many supporters were slipping away until she asked the right questions. We are reaching people now that we were quietly losing before."
A.M. · Program Director
"I used to second-guess every ask we made. Nicole helped us build something we could stand behind, and now our team talks about the mission and vision with confidence and the right people say yes."
C.S. · Development Lead
"She takes the time to understand where you are, then asks exactly the right questions to cut through the noise. Our small team stopped rebuilding from scratch every season and started putting that time back into the people we serve."
L.R. · Program Director
"We came in with an idea and Nicole turned it into a clear plan, and now into a working system. We could not have created this engagement strategy without you."
E.F. · Social Impact Director

Is This You?

You Own Engagement, Recruitment,
and Four Other Jobs

You have read the reports. You have sat through the webinars. You may have even tried something new once. But giving still lands in December, volunteers sign up once and never return, program seats go unfilled, and the person holding it all together is still you.

The Year-End Push

Poured everything into one year-end appeal. It worked once, and it costs more to repeat every year.

✗ Didn't hold

The Borrowed Playbook

Copied what a larger organization did. Their donor base was not your donor base.

✗ Didn't hold

Guessing At Behavior

Made the call on instinct because the data never showed why people gave, served, or enrolled once and never came back.

✗ Didn't hold

The Real Fear

"If we spend limited funds on something new and it does not work, that money is gone. There is no second shot this year."

That fear is valid, and it is exactly why we start with diagnosis and with what has already worked for organizations at your budget size. Nothing here asks you to experiment on your donor base. We measure the experience they are already having. Donor trust is the first thing we protect, not the thing we spend.

What you are looking for is not another best-practice list. You want:

One journey that carries people from first gift, first shift, or first inquiry to lasting commitment without anyone chasing them by hand
A clear picture of where donors, volunteers, and participants drop off, and which drop-off to fix first
An approach shaped around your organization and the people it depends on, built on what you already do well

That's where I come in.

The Process

Simple Steps.
Real Results.

A clear path from a season that depends on one big push to support you can plan around.

01

Book a Discovery Call

We start with your organization, your mission, and who gives, serves, and enrolls today. You will leave with more clarity than you came in with, regardless of what comes next.

02

Get a Personalized Diagnosis

Using the LEAP framework, I map where your supporter journey breaks and what has already worked for organizations solving the same problem. Specific, prioritized, and sourced.

03

Execute With a Clear Roadmap

You hold the mission. I provide the roadmap and build alongside your team, so what we put in place keeps running after the engagement ends. You own it, not rent it.

About Nicole

Seen Clearly.
Supported Fully.

Mission-driven leaders bring Nicole in when momentum has stalled and the path forward needs clarity. She helps teams see what proximity to the problem makes invisible, then builds the structure that removes it for good.

Nicole holds a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology and is a current Doctoral Candidate, a foundation that trained her to identify exactly how people move through a journey and where they quietly fall away. Rather than simply swapping tools, she studies how people and process must evolve together for results to compound. She has spent over 12 years designing online systems and operations, and six years architecting engagement and development systems for growing teams.

A 3-person team 5x'd their monthly impact after developing a simple impact flow strategy, removing the bottleneck and leveraging the assets they already had on file.

Another used my strategic framework to 10x their signature event enrollment without adding headcount or increasing the budget.

The pattern is always the same: the problem is never technical. It's structural.

The LEAP Framework

When Everything Feels Urgent,
Start With What Matters

P A E L

Limit the Focus

We name the one number creating the most pressure, whether that is recurring donors, volunteers who return after a first shift, program seats filled, or giving outside the year-end appeal. One focus aligns a team that is already stretched.

Establish the Plan

We turn that focus into a plan built for your organization and your capacity. Clear enough to act on this quarter, specific enough to show movement.

Assemble the Assets

We build on what you already have and already know. Real examples from organizations solving the same problem, adapted to your donors, volunteers, and participants, with the source attached to every recommendation.

Progress Monitoring That Tells You What Is Working

You know what to watch, what the numbers mean, and what to change when a signal shows up. When something underperforms you fix that step, not the whole machine.
